Sounders, hiking, clamming, theatre and PSSC

Sounders, hiking, clamming, theatre and PSSC
The stage for Fox on the Fairway.

Good Morning! I hope that all is well with everyone. These past two weeks have been a gentle introduction to the fall. The weather here has been mostly pleasant, with a few days of clouds here and there. Catherine and I managed to get some Theatre in at the Edmonds Driftwood players, where we saw our friend Boyd play the lead character. Watch some baseball as the Mariners advanced to the ALCS for the first time in 24 years. Lunch with my friend Steve over on the Microsoft Campus, and Dinner with friends. All in all a pretty good couple of weeks.

I spent a couple of hours creating a bracket to hold the loos gauge in the boat so it is easy to access. It was rattling around in it's box, that, after all of these years, was now just in tatters.
This is what my journalling station looks like this time of year in the dark. It's nice that there is a heater right above me here.
Athena like this time of year, since the "Heater god" is on, and the vents dispense nice warm air.

Dinner, Soccer and hiking

We had a nice DInner with our friends Ada and Jason and their dogs Midnight and Ginger
My friend Andy invited me to join him at the Seattle v. Portland game. Seattle won, and the place was rocking!
The next morning I met up with Greg and we hiked to the top of Tiger mountain, and had a good catch up.

Mermaid Museum and clamming

A statue in the gardens of the Mermaid Museum

Thursday, I headed down to Twin Harbors Beach, and on the way, stopped at the International Mermaid Museum. The museum is actually part of a winery \ distillery \ restaurant, and resort. I'd driven by it a couple of times before, and had some extra time before it was time to go clamming, so I decided to stop in. What a fantastic little spot. The museum is mostly about the lore of water, featuring women and men from various cultures around the world, and some ocean ecology stuff. They had a wonderful garden with some very cool pieces of art installed.

The light house at the garden

A cool outdoor scrable table.
Bill has quite the story, and served me my tasting from the distillary.
Another piece of art in the garden

I made it down to the beach at high tide, so I had a couple of hours to kill. So I went for a little walk, and then took a nap.

Getting ready to go clamming.

Sunset at the beach
I managed to limit out within 30 minutes of starting. First time I've done that in a long time.
Here is the Haul. From here I went to my Buddy Nick's place up the road, cleaned them, caught up with Nick, and then spent the night down there before heading home after breakfast Friday morning.

Puget Sound Sailing Championship

This past weekend was the PSSC Regatta. There were 17 J105's registered. Our biggest turn out of the year. We were solidly middle of the pack. We sailed well, and had a good time. We have one more regatta this year, and then a couple of small races before we kick things off again in the spring as we work towards next years North American Championships

Killing some time on the way to the race course.

A shot of the clubhouse after the race.

Well, that's about it for now. This week coming up will be consumed with routing for the mariners. 😄

Love ya
