Corvo Haul out

Corvo Haul out

Hey all! I hope that you are healthy and happy! Things are well around here. Spring is starting to make itself felt, and that feels good, and now that we have sprung forward, we will have some longer evenings to enjoy it 😄

The big news these past two weeks is that we have Corvo hauled out for a new coat of Bottom paint, which will put it in race-ready form for the upcoming season. Last Sunday, Alex and I were joined by my friend Alan as we delivered the boat from Shilshole to CSR Marine for the haulout. It was pulled out on Monday and looked really good. There were a couple of things that needed some attention, and they are being addressed. We also used the "Templates" for the keel and rudder to check their shapes, and they look good and don't need any reshaping.

In other news, I have been working on a software package to track and share sailboat data for individual performance improvements, fleet improvements, and coaching. I tried to do this last year, and I just didn't have the skills or tools to do it. This year, with the help of Claude Code, I have made tremendous progress, and I'm starting to feel like it might actually have some value in the community. It has been a long time since I have had this level of focus and engagement on a project, and it feels good.

This week, we'll finish up on Corvo, get it back in the water hopefully by the end of the week, and get it ready to go racing. I'll also be taking the Van into the body shop to get a boo boo fixed, so we will be without it for a while.

Love ya all

This is a Clock that Tom and Helen had at their house before Catherine did her restorations to it.
Here it is after Catherines restorations.
The backstay adjuster on corvo was leaking, so we took it into be repaired. I put it on the boat on Tuesday and pumped it up.
On Sunday it was still holding, so we are very excited to have this "Fixed" as it has a huge impact on upwind performance, and when it doesn't hold we end up going slow.
Went for a walk, and found this tree eating a fire hydrant.
Catherine and I had a friend help us clear out the attic of a bunch of old paper work so we could recycle it. Here it is in the Van on it's way to the transfer station.
Alan on Corvo as we move it from Shilshole to CSR
Alex Chillin at the helm on the move.
All ready to be hauled out.
I love necco wafers.
Here is the keel after the haul out, but before the bottom prep.
Kirk is helping me use the Template to check the shape of the keel -
It's March in Seattle - it's hard to see in this picture - but this is the fleet racing north in the Three Tree Point race of the center sound series. This is the first one of these I've missed in a while :).
