Ballgame, Sailing and leashes

Good Morning! I hope that things are finding you all well. Looks like it is finally cooling off down in the phoenix area!

This started out as a good week, with me hitting the Gym on Monday, and then us having our last monday night race of the year. We went into the race tied for first in the series, but between being over early, and really light shifty wind, we ended up fifth for the race, and our rival for first got a third, so we were second overall in the series. That’s the way it goes. It’s kind of hard for me to believe that a year of Monday night sailing has Gone by, and there are only two more wedensday night races, and then evening sailing will be done for the year. We are going to be doing The Puget Sound Sailing Championships, and the Grand Prix still, so it’s not quite all the way over. Not to mention that Alex and I have both signed up for a week long on the water sailing school here in the middle of September. We are looking forward to that.

By the time I got home on Monday night, I could feel a cold coming on, and on Tuesday I woke up just feeling run down, and I spent the day in bed, I didn’t even come out for soup night, so that I could try and keep anyone else from getting it.

Wednesday I rallied so that I could make it to the Mariners \ Padres game in the afternoon. I took the train down there, and parking at the park and ride was full, so I had to go to the other side of the freeway, find street parking, and then walk over the bridge. I made it to the game just in time. Bob and Kristi had bought a pair of the tickets from me, and there were another couple from the neighborhood there as well. We had great seats, and the game was fun To watch and score. I had to duck out of there at the end of the 7th inning to make it back in time to go racing, and made it there just in time.

Wednesday nights sail was in crazy light wind. I think this is the lightest wind we have tried to sail in All year, and it was a real crap shoot. At least we weren’t over early at the start. After the race, the whole crew hung out at the clubhouse for a while, and it was really nice to have us all there.

Thursday was another low energy day for me, since I had overextended myself on Wednesday, but I did have enough energy to start the process of making one hundred dog leashes for Catherines to donate to the big fix. Catherine managed to get her hand on a couple of worn out climbing ropes. I used our hot knife to cut them into lengths, made a loop in one end, and then attached a clip to the other. It’s satisfying and mindless work, but it is good to have something to do in the garage. 😄. It is also a good chance to listen to the book Sapiens, I’ve probably got another eight hours to go on this batch, and I will have created 75 of the planned 100 leashes.

I did manage To make it out to Happy hour Thursday night, and catch up with folks.

Yesterday, was more work on leashes day, as well as head out to a friends 50th birthday party, whitch we quite enjoyed.

This coming week I hope to get back to feeling better than 90%, this feeling run down is a drag.

Love ya
