Pray for Snow!
Hello!
I hope this missive finds you happy and content with whatever you are doing at the moment. Things have been good around here since the begining of the year. Catherine and I have been getting up to the pass on Wednesday Nights, and coming home on Sat Morning. The first week we did it, we had good snow, but now it hasn't snowed for more than a week, and it has been warm, so while we went up there, we didn't get out this past week. We could tell what it was going to be like, just by the amount of dirt showing through the snow everywhere.
Last weekend, I ran the Rainbow and Unicorn 5k around Green Lake with my team, "unicorn farts." I managed to set a personal record of 40:28 for the 5k, which is faster than I've ever run the inner loop of Green Lake, which is shorter than a 5k. Alex joined me and kept me company and encouraged me along. My next goal for running is to run a 5k faster than Alex can walk with me ;)
I had the chance to catch up with a couple of Expedia friends these past two weeks, on the Anniversary of 1 year of retirement. I have no regrets 😄
This past week also saw me rebuild my electric bike (the controller did not like being out in the weather on the back of the van for three weeks), and it now runs like a brand-new bike; it's lovely.
I also rebuilt a water pump on Airborne, so it is ready to move over to its new home on Lake Union. I'll probably do that later this upcoming week.
Saturday night, we headed over to Bob and Kristie's to watch the Seahawks host the 49ers. Man, that was quite the game, with the Seahawks crushing the Niners 6-41. After the game, Kristi, Sarah, Jana, and I went down to Nectar for a concert.
Today Scott and I took the bus to Fisheries, and then had a very pleasant walk down to the pike street market for lunch before grabbing coffee, and riding the bus home.
Love ya all
Dan W
