Moving Friends and Family
Corvo 105 is finishing the third race on Wednesday in third place.

The big news is that Alex and Victoria closed on their house and got the keys on Friday. Victoria's parents, and we met Alex and Victoria at the house, along with the realtor, for the first opening of the door. And then it was time to move all of the stuff into the house. I had spent Thursday and Friday with both Alex and Victoria loading up the van with the contents of their apartments, and now it was time to get it all unloaded. And then, head on out for another load of stuff. Including the mattress, which went upstairs. Getting that thing up the stairs took quite a bit of effort, since we had to bend it like a taco. We then sat down and had some pizza with everyone. We then unveiled the housewarming gifts that Victoria's folks and we got for them: an electric lawnmower, a power head with a weed-wacker attachment, and a leaf blower.

On Saturday and Sunday, they continued cleaning out the apartments, moving stuff out of Victoria's parents' place and our place. Yesterday I went over and helped Alex assemble their new Weber grill, and then they had some friends over for a Korean BBQ on their front porch. So far, things are going as smoothly as anyone could hope for!

In other moving-related news, I spent a good portion of Wednesday with Scott and Silv, from soup night, helping Kate and her Dad pack and move a load of stuff from their old house on Queen Anne to their new house on Mercer Island. Now that all the friends and family have moved, it is time to put the van back together and get it ready for some camping.

On the sailing scene, our performance was quite a bit better this week than last week, so that felt good. All of the reps we have been getting are starting to show as our boat handling becomes second nature and much more predictable and reliable.

Finally, on Sunday evening, we got together with a group of friends for dinner on Capitol Hill and saw the Circus of Second Chances at 12th Avenue Arts. It was a lot of fun!

This week looks like it is going to be pretty rainy up here in Seattle. I'm having lunch with former co-workers today, and they will start putting the van back together. I hope you have a great week as well!
