Why hello there!

I hope the last couple of weeks have been good to you, things are moving right along around here.

The big news is that our friend Tom had a fall and spent some time in the hospital. He’s now at Broadview and will be having a TAVR procedure tomorrow. That’s been taking up much of our attention lately — we’ve been visiting him, coordinating care with friends, and getting his house ready so it’ll be safe and comfortable when he comes home to recuperate.

On the home front, our sewer repairs began today. We’re relining the section from the house to the main with a cured-in-place liner — the old 3-foot concrete sections had failing mortar joints that let in tree roots. Here’s hoping that’s one of those “fix it once and never again” projects!

Last weekend, Corvo raced in the Grand Prix regatta. The sailing was fun and plenty windy! We had two races on Friday, a long one to Blakely Rocks on Saturday, and two more on Sunday. The Saturday night blow knocked out power for a couple of crew members, so we were down to four on Sunday — but still held our own, finishing 5th of 13 boats.

On Friday, we hosted Diane's Halloween birthday party, handing out candy and catching up with friends. It was a lovely evening to wrap up a busy week.

OK - that's about all I have for right now. Don't forget to VOTE!

Love ya all

Brian and I had lunch, and found this derelict boat on our walk around the waterfront afterwards.
This is where all of the old signs in Ballard end up.
