Enjoying the start of summer - World Cup - Moves are settled
The sun sets very far north this time of year

Hi All! Welcome to Summer!

It's been a couple of weeks of living life and settling in. It's been two weeks now since Alex and Victoria moved into their new house, and they are feeling quite at home. So much so that Catherine and I have been over just to hang out a couple of times already, and it just feels comfy. Last Sunday, we hung out with Victoria's parents, sister, niece, and nephew. And then on Thursday, Catherine and I dropped by and hung out for taco dinner.

I went over to our friend Kate's old house on Tuesday and worked with her dad to help wrap that up and get it ready for the stagers. My tasks were to remove the stars from Kiera's room (Kate's dad had put up glow-in-the-dark stars of the night sky on the day Kiera was born) and patch the caulk in the bathrooms.

World Cup

This cycle, we have gotten into the World Cup a bit and have been paying attention to the games going on in the group stage. As a matter of fact, we hosted a watch party at our house for the USA v. Australia game at Seattle Stadium. It was well attended, the weather was beautiful, and the USA won. Things in the city were crazy for that game. I had gone down to the Seattle Center area for breakfast with some friends, and the place was absolutely hopping with fans from out of town! And we were over a mile from the stadium! The USA plays its final group match this week, and we will likely host a watch party for that as well.

This is the first time that I have felt connected to the World Cup, and I have to say that I am enjoying learning more about football and some of the stories behind the teams.

History and update on this Blog

I recently consolidated all the old writings I have shared over the past few years into this blogging platform, so all those old posts are now available here as well. If you are interested in the history and motivations for this blog, you can find them written up here History and status of this blog

Now onto the pictures ;)

Aryman is a pre-retirement co-worker who was in town from India for a team offsite. I had the chance to take him sailing on a beautiful Friday afternoon.
There are not too many pictures of me on Airborne that were taken from off of Airborne.
Dropped Aryman off at the south end of the lake, so he could have a nice walk and do some shopping on the way back to his Hotel
River absolutely LOVES the van.
Catherine and Francis have been enjoying the Seattle Storm games.
One last load from Kate's old house to her new house.
Cowboy Alex.
That's a lot of wisteria at their new house.
Victoria's stepmother, stepsister, and niece are hanging out for breakfast.
It's an easy bike ride for them to Chuck's Hop Shop
There they go!
Athena thinks that River's bed is just the right size.
Steve looking for the layline on Monday night.
That's a big boat going through the ship canal.
Another nice thing about them being so close is that we can dognap River so she can nap on our porch.
Went to a local coffee roaster for coffee with my friends Jason and Afton.
The Wednesday night race committee
Creative coming in off of the water on Wednesday
Me and my friends Josh and Lori (and Josh's son Nate) at the 5 Point Cafe for breakfast on the day of the USA v. Australia World Cup match
The watch party was both upstairs and downstairs.
On Saturday I did a 5k run with my friend Teresa
Here we are coming in to the finish - there was beer waiting for us ;)
After the 5k, I rode my bike down to Fremont for the annual solstice parade.
Scott knows my weakness and bought me some Necco wafers.
Victoria and Alex came down as well.
