I’m a big fan of Vaclav Smil And what he has to say about the role of energy in culture and the rise and fall of different societies.
Noah Smith makes a great argument that it is not just the energy transformation that is important, but command of the electric Tech Stack that is going to allow any country to control its own destiny. I feel like we hang on too tightly to what we know, and will get trampled by what’s coming.
